• Butler Creek Weapon Accessories from SHOT Show will keep you Comfortable on Long Hunts!

    Feb 2 • News, Videos • 4188

I know a lot of the high tech optics and cases got most of the attention from SHOT Show 2012, but those little weapon accessories are going to help you greatly on your next hunt.  They might make you more comfortable for long hikes, or they’ll help protect your optics in the field.  In our Butler Creek SHOT Show Video Interview we talk with Darin Stephens about some of the great new gear that’ll be out later in the year from Butler Creek!

Butler Creek Air Sling provides long lasting comfort when Hauling a Rifle!

The Butler Creek Air Sling is a fantastic new strap that was designed for ultimate comfort.  It features proprietary gel coil technology for extra softness that’ll stand up to extended use without breaking down.  It comes in black or camo, so it should complement your look nicely, and it isn’t terribly expensive, as it should retail for about $30.  The Air Sling may not seem as fancy or high tech as some of the great scopes shown off, but your shoulder will thank you when you have it along on your next hunt.

Butler Creek Tactical Flip-Caps Keep Springing without the Spring!

Flip Caps are a popular item for many shooters, especially those who need a great tactical options, as they have to move around a lot, stop, and take a quick shot.  When moving it’s smart to have a cap over your lenses to keep dust and dirt off them, but if the caps take an extra second to get off you’re going to lose precious time.  A Flip cap makes getting on target fast and easy, but most flip caps have a spring, and there for more than one part.  Butler Creek decided to correct this with their new Tactical Flip Caps.  These bad boys have one piece construction, as there’s a new rubber material in the cap that allows them to flip open smoothly without a spring!

The one piece construction on the Butler Creek Tactical Flip-Caps will make them much more durable and long lasting than normal flip caps, and they’re going to be very popular when they release later this year.

Butler Creek brought some excellent new gear that actually has a lot of innovation and new technology involved without being flashy.  No doubt you’ll get a ton of use out of these new weapon accessories on your next hunt!

  • Bushnell Trail Cameras CLEARLY Steal the Show at SHOT Show 2012!

    Feb 2 • News, Videos • 3847

Trail Cameras are a fantastic way to get a leg up before hunting season.  We’ve been big fans of Bushnell Trail Cameras for a while now, as they feature expert design and innovative features for far greater use than most other options on the market.  In our latest Bushnell SHOT Show Video we get to take a look at the new models they’ll be releasing later this year.

What Sets these new Bushnell Trail Cameras Apart?

There are a number of features that hunters will love about these new trail cameras, but probably the biggest advancement is the quality of the images and video you’ll get.  Bushnell has joined the HD revolution, and this is going to make a huge difference when you’re tracking game.  You’ll see WAY more detail, and be able to spot game that would otherwise be obscured because of the low image quality.  So Bushnell really stole the show this year with the image clarity in their new trail cameras.  Clear images mean greater success!

Another cool new advancement on certain models is the quality of the night vision.  It’s called ‘Hyper Night Vision,’ and as you can see from the video, the change is night and day.  Pun intended.

To top it all off, Bushnell Trail Cameras have absolutely astounding battery life.  You won’t have to worry about changing or recharging the batteries nearly as often as with much of the competition.

The new Bushnell Trail Cameras from SHOT Show will be available May 1st, but some of the options shown are available from OpticsPlanet right NOW, so check out all of our Bushnell Trail Cameras today!

    Feb 2 • News, Videos • 4841

Bushnell really showed off a lot of awesome new gear at SHOT Show 2012.  From their awesome new Fusion 1600 Rangefinder Binoculars to their Elite Tactical and Legend Ultra HD Rifle Scopes, Bushnell really brought their ‘A’ game this year.

The Bushnell Legend Line Expands with More Binoculars and Monoculars!

I wrote before about the Legend Rifle Scopes, but those aren’t the only new additions to this awesome family of products by Bushnell.  The new Bushnell Legend 10×25 Compact Binocular is a fantastic and very portable new binocular with fully multi-coated lenses and a fantastic ergonomic design.  These are the first compact binoculars in the Legend family, so it’s a really exciting new product.

Another Bushnell Legend Optic from SHOT Show is the new Monocular.  The Legend Monocular also has fully multi-coated lenses, but it also has a Picatinny Rail mount, and there’s a mil-hash reticle, so it’s super versatile and will give you outstanding performance as you glass the field!

Don’t Worry about the Rain with the Bushnell H2O Binocular

Bushnell also showed off their new H2O Binocular at SHOT Show.  These just went through a new redesign, and the outer body now has a soft rubber grip, which makes them even more comfortable than ever before, and these binos are still waterproof and fogproof so they’ll stand up to a lot of stress as you run around with them! The roof and porro prisms have also seen some great redesign upgrades this year, so you’ll see an even sharper image than ever before!

All three of these great new optics shown off by Bushnell at SHOT Show 2012 should be available later this month, so you won’t have to wait long to get your hands on them!  We can’t wait!  Watch the video above so you can see why these new optics are so exciting!

  • Leupold VX-R Zombie Scope Video from SHOT Show!

    Feb 2 • News, Videos • 4813

I got to write a bit about the Leupold VX-R Zombie Scope in our SHOT Show Day 1 Recap, but today we have the full video interview with Leupold‘s John Snodgrass to show you this awesome new tool for taking down the undead.

The VX-R Zombie Scope was developed in conjunction with Hornady, who developed the Zombie Max Ammunition that people were raving about at this year’s SHOT Show.  Leupold’s SHOT Show display had a lot of great new gear, but their Zombie Scope was the most fun.  If you check out the video above you’ll see the cool little details Leupold included, such as the brain decals on the inside of the lens caps, and the dot reticle is green instead of red, which is a smart design decision on Leupold’s part, as we all know that green dots are more effective at taking down one of the walking dead than a red dot.

What I really like about the Leupold VX-R Zombie Scope is that it isn’t just a novelty scope; it’s a top quality Leupold Rifle Scope with the features you’d expect from this top brand! The VX-R Zombie is waterproof and fog proof, has excellent glass and features outstanding construction so that it’ll stand up to the incredible stresses a zombie horde will put it through.

As John says, “Accuracy is the only thing that keeps you from joining the ranks of the dead.” You won’t need to worry about accuracy when the zombie apocalypse is upon us if you have the new Leupold Zombie Scope!  Watch the Leupold SHOT Show Video above and take the first step toward protecting yourself from the undead nightmare.

  • Swarovski EL Rangefinding Binoculars from SHOT Show!!

    Feb 1 • News, Videos • 3597

My last post was about the new Swarovski EL binoculars, and they were an impressive new product on display at SHOT Show this year, but Swarovski didn’t stop innovating there.  In our second Swarovski SHOT Show Video Steve gets to take a look at the EL Range, which are a rangefinding binocular!

Rangefinding binoculars seem to be all the rage this year, as we also saw a fantastic pair by Bushnell: the Fusion 1600s.

What separates the Swarovski EL Range from the Fusion 1600s is size.  These are more compact than the Fusion 1600s, and while they don’t have quite the same range, they will give you ranges up to 1500 yards, which is excellent, and they have the fantastic glass from the regular EL binoculars that so impressed Steve in our previous video.

The EL Range also has ballistic compensation, which is fantastic, and we can’t wait to get to try them out when they release this April!
