Employing the Bindon Aiming Concept (BAC), which was created by Trijicon founder Gly Bindon, ACOG riflescopes allow the user to aim with both eyes open, enabling faster target acquisition at both close and long ranges. The large eye volume gives the shooter flexibility when aiming, so that exact alignment is not necessary for a quick shot. Fiber optics automatically adjust the brightness and contrast of the reticle to the current lighting conditions, so you don’t need to worry about having a reticle so bright that your eyes can focus on the target in low light situations, and likewise you don’t have to worry about having a reticle too faint for use in brighter conditions. Since battery power is one the least reliable factors in most illuminated riflescopes, ACOGs use tritium, which is guaranteed to last for 15 years.
